AI, or Artificial Intelligence, refers to computer systems that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. It involves the development of algorithms and models that enable machines to learn, reason, and make decisions. AI has diverse applications, from speech recognition to autonomous vehicles, and continues to advance rapidly, transforming various industries. I have to admit, when I first heard of ChatGPT, one of the more popular and easy to use AI tools, and what it was capable of I thought that was the end of my copywriting career. Yes, even with the free version you can generate almost perfect copy on any subject you like. For instance the first paragraph of the copy here was written by AI. Not bad but it lacks the personal touch of the second. It would also struggle to write any product specific copy which wasn't a rehash of all previous copy on the subject. So is this the end of my copywriting career? I think not, at least yet. You should give it a try for yourself, and maybe that’s all you’ll need. However, from my perspective, I will leave it to ChatGPT to sum up. As a copywriter, AI can be a valuable ally, helping you automate repetitive tasks, gain insights into audience preferences, and streamline your workflow. While AI offers convenience and efficiency, it also highlights the importance of focusing on creativity, storytelling, and strategic thinking, allowing you to create more impactful and engaging content.
